Biography

Dr. Ingo Schmidt is the Academic Coordinator of Labour Studies in the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies. He joined Athabasca University in 2007.

Dr. Schmidt's past research focused on trade unions in Germany, European integration and international political economy. He recently published a book on a comparison of neo-liberal policies across various countries in the North and South and is currently working on a comparative analysis of Third Way social democracy. He has widely published on labour movements and also served as a policy adviser and labour educator for trade unions in Germany and Canada.
